Avocados and Travel

The avocado is the perfect snack. I may even go so far as to say, that it is the perfect food. It can be sweet or savory, is highly satisfying and keeps you sustained for hours because of it’s healthy fat and high protein content. If you count amino acids, the avocado has 18. (That’s all of them by the way)

We have been traveling a lot lately, but often food and travel snacks create a dilemma. What to bring?!  Personally, I find comfort in the avocado as it is one of my favorite foods and highly portable. My husband looked at me cross eyed the first time he saw me pull one out of my bag. But the avocado IS the perfect snack to have on hand and can become a meal or a snack in a flash. Add some crudité and it becomes a dip, slice it and put it on top of lettuce and you have a salad, peel it like an apple and you have a portable snack. The fats in the Avocado will keep you sustained and feeling strong for quite some time.
